3 point on 140 ?

did IH ever put a 3 pt on the 140? or was it the 1 pt only. i would like to put a 3 pt on mine so i can use the implements from my n2 ford. thanks Bob

There was never a factory 3 pt for a 140, however there are aftermarket 3 pt hitches for them. I wouldn't try to pickup anything very heavy since the rockshaft on a 140 is only supported by the fenders.

I have after market 3 pts on 2 140's. You will lift the front wheels off the ground before you exceed the capacity of the 3 pt. I use a IH 1300 sickle mower and a disc with 16 blades at 18". These are in the 600 to 800 lb range. That's about the upper limit of functionality.

Just take a look at those 140 fenders. They are not ordinary fenders. They are fenders that have been on steroids for a while,several times the thickness of ordinary fenders.

Who made your after market 3 points and how well do they work?
Are the arms for attaching the implement fixed or free swinging? Angled or straight?

well thanks for the replys. the biggest thing that ill pick up is a 6ft tandem disk. so dose the 3pt work of the origenl rock shaft? and where is the best place to start looking for one? thanks Bob

Bob: No factory 3 point, however if you would like a 3 point like this, send me an e mail. This disk weighs 1,000 lbs.
