Power Problems Farmall 350

I am having problems with the power. Cannot get spark to the points. I've changed the points and coil but have not replaced the condenser. The system had been changed to a 12V with a resistor. I have checked the voltage at the coil and am getting 6.25 volts. I started the tractor and it ran for about 2 minutes and then quit and I haven't been able to get it started again.

You didn't happen to get a coil with an internal resistor in it did you?

If you have the right coil, take off your points/condenser wires from the coil and run a wire that you can ground somewhere on the engine. Then, with the key on, ground/break ground with that wire to see if you're getting any spark. If you do = points/condenser.

Another thing to check is the post on side of distributor were wire goes on outside and points and condenser hookups go on inside. It has a insulater, make sure post is not grounded.

I looked at this as my potential problem since the unit cranked and ran for a short period of time. I checked to see if the unit was grounding with an OHM Meter and sure enough it was. The problem is I can't figure out how to isolate it. The hole is so small it must take a special kind of screw with a sleeve. I have looked everywhere and cannot find any such part. Any ideas on how to insulate this post?
