never had a piston stuck this bad before has anyone just busted one out to free up crank? any help would be appreciated

What have you soaked it with?? Is this a in-frame rebuild or a complete one?? Either way I have found that you can some times pop one loose if real bad by cutting a oak 2X?? that will just fit in the cylinder and then hitting it a few times real real hard but not hard enough to brake the piston. That is of course if it is not at the bottom of the stroke

if that dont work, then you could unbolt the rod and push sleeve out (if it has one)with hyd. jack..clamp rod in vise and work on it from there. probably just tear sleeve away from piston (dry sleeve)since it is toast anyhow.i have done it this way before.wet sleeve you could press it out.

Okay except for the part about the sleeve. the 60 was in a Cub, no sleeve.

Otherwise, I've been know to drive out piston, sleeve and all then cut away the sleeve to get my rod back.

I have removed the motor removed the rod cap and have hit it very hard has not moved at all. I have been spraying it with p b blaster everyday

Pour some kerosene or diesel on top of the piston and set it on fire. The heat should loosen it.
Then tap the rod using a piece of oak and a big hammer. You may need to do it several times. Hal

Is the piston at the top or bottom of stroke? The piston cannot be removed through the bottom of the cylinder. If there is a ridge at the top, it has to be removed before driving it up through the top.
In addition to the heat trick, mix A/T fluid with acetone and let it sit. It will do a better job than PBblaster.

#4 piston is almost at bottom of stroke I got #1 piston out #2and#3 is stuck in position that the rod bolts are keeping them from coming out but they are loose

Rterry,A piece of wood and a hammer doesn't work well on a piston that's stuck bad,and especially if its aluminum, because it will weld itself to the cylinder wall.I use a 3/4 in round piece of steel a little smaller than the cylinder and a 30 lb sledge hammer, wrap a piece of thick plastic in between the cylinder wall and piece of steel to protect the cylinder.I would try burning the cylinder,by filling the cylinder with diesel fuel and a spoon full of gas, then hit it with the hammer and steel.Ive done dozens of these and have never hurt anything yet
