140 wiring

Something is seriously wrong with my 140 wiring. Had a short and wires melted. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that would work for this tractor with the following: 12 Volt, Negative ground, generator, voltage regulator, key switch, push button start switch, light switch. Thanks

Rowtohoe: During the life of 140s 4 different wiring schematics were used. I have the diagrams for all 4 and the serial number breakdown when changes occured.

If you have the right operator's manual for your tractor, it will contain the proper wiring diagram.

Hi Hugh,
Sorry but I don"t have a manual with a wiring diagram. Furthermore, have no idea what equipment is original on my tractor.

rowtohoe: Neither do I know what was original equipment on your tractor, but that is where you have to start from. Unless we know the serial number, no one can tell you what you should have without seeing the tractor.
