have changed: points, condenser, coil, oil, plugs, gas line and tank clean, carb is clean. when tractor has been driven .5 hour and is warm. the tractor will act like it is getting no fuel. open throttle wide open and pull choke out and motor will re and then almost die and then rev again. this goes on for awhile then the motor almost sounds like a cough and then t will run smooth for awhile until this process happens again. which varies time wise. any assistence will be much appreciatd

Aftermarket in-line fuel filter? Get rid of it. Could also be a plugged up vent in the fuel tank cap. Just take the cap off and see what happens. If that solves it, get a new cap, but make sure it is a "vented" cap.

The cyclic idle (if I read that correctly) hints at a vacuum leak, if the standard possibilities are covered. The governor acts as a "stall saver" to open the throttle back up, but the same condition persists and starts to drag down the rpm again.

Sonuds like the problem I had with my "460". I replace the manifold gasket and it solved my problem.
