throw out bearing

Bought a 1586 the other day and got around tonight to changing oil and greasing it, cracked open the bottom bell housing cover and didnt see any grease cert for the throw out, are these not greasable inthe 86 series? My 1466 is greasable. I greased the two pivots on the throw out, just wondering if i am missing the cert, or if they werent greasable. Thanks for any help.

you should be able to grease them through the bearing carrier

Some are not regreasable, bearing sleeve may even be turned upside down and plugged so you cannot grease it.

Thanks, I thought maybe the grease cert was somewhere else, but it must not be greasable. Do the ones with grease certs just grease where it slides or does it actually grease the bearing?

The ones with grease zerks may or may not actually grease the bearing depending on who put what bearing on, and when greasing them you need to reach up and turn the bearing while adding grease to actually get the grease into the bearing.

Thanks, i didnt know that, i have had my 1466 for around 10 years and i usually just open the cover and give it a few pumps and put the cover back on, i should try and spin it next time, its probably getting at the end of its rope.
