Super A Temp hook up

Hello,
I recently purchased a 1951 Super A. The Temp gauge was mounted on the throttle/hydr controls. The line had been snipped off.
According to the manual, this is incorrect. Was there more than one area to mount the gauge over the years ?? Also, where did the probe tie into for the temp reading ?
Thanks in advance for any help !!

Jeff: The gauge on top of hydraulic levers is hydraulic temperature and the sensor would have been in end of hydraulic screen.

Ant coolant temperature gauge would have been on top of distributor drive with sensor on upper water port.

Quite a bunch unless you have awater pump. The thermo system will always be hotter on top than at the bottom outlet.

What is wrong with the price of that temp guage for the hy system as the guages for water temp are reasonable but that guage is three times the price WHY

If CaseIH still sells it, it is because they don't sell many of them, like every other low production item. OEM Tractor Parts has the Touch Control gauge for $86 and the water temp gauge for $82.50. And, they are higher than most for about everything.

Theres lots of places to get the temp guages for 30 or less but everyone who sells the SC hy temp guages all run 75 or so Theres no doubt OEM is high like their hoods for A,B and C when Mark woods down the road a few miles has great ones for many $$$ less and they are super quick shipment so forth. It pays to know who has good parts and shipping prices.

I saw the gauge on Steiner when looking for something else, don't remember the price. I speculate that OEM prices everything high to try to get back more of their manufacturing cost, even for things they don't make. Generally I only buy from them when it is a part that no one else makes. I wonder if the other peoples hoods are made by OEM, and sold cheaper? I know some of their battery boxes are. Ordered a battery box from Steel Wheel Ranch, the cable openings on the lid and box did not match, sent it back (the ONLY time I have ever sent anything back to Mike). Then I ordered one from OEM, it was the same so I kept it. Should have kept Mikes.

Hello, Thanks to all that replied. I have a new temp gauge from Steiner, but Im not sure as the correct mounting spot and tie in for the probe.
AS I mentioned before the gauge was mounted on the throttle control bracket. The owners manual I purchased shows it ahead of the oil pressure gauge on the right hand side.
If anyone can tell me the proper mounting spot and probe tie in I would appreciate it !!
Thanks !!
