460 Industrial water pump?

Generator wasn't charging on my 460 gas industrial. Tightened the belt which went all the way to the end of the slot. Then noticed the fan wiggles. Loosened the belt and checked bolts in fan. One was a little lose the other 3 tight. Fan still wiggles. Guessing it's the water pump but coolant is not leaking. Am I on borrowed time or will this run like this for awhile? Thanks! Joe Fabregas

I would replace the pump right away. It sounds like the water pump bearing is shot. If you don't replace it you will more than likely put the fan through the radiator costing you more money. If you have the casting # I probably have a pump on hand if you need one.

Deep down inside I was afraid of that. Especially since it came on suddenly. I'm surprised it doesn't leak. Sounds like I have to take everything apart to get to it. That number wouldn't be in a place I could read from the outside? Thanks! Joe Fabregas

the casting number is probably under the pulley of course where you can't read it until it's all apart. Good luck
