F-20 round spoke rims

I recently bought a pair of F&H round spoke rims for my F-20. They are 36"x8" what width tire should go on these? Im afraid 9.5" will look to skinny. Would 11.2" fit on these rims? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thankyou, Mark.

Same here,11.2 on the 8" rim. They fit and look fine. The rim would handle the 12.4 no problem.Just a matter of money.IF I had it to do over, would have gone with 12.4.

Price both. It may surprise you. Sometimes a more common size will be worlds cheaper. I have 11.2 on mine and they look narrow

I think the tire retailers have charts that show the original sizes (like 9.00-36 as used on most F-20s back in the 30s) compared to the modern sizes. I know from an unpleasant experience that the numbers do not correspond exactly between the old system and the newer one (in other words, 9.00-36 is NOT equal to 9-36, as I understand it). Perhaps somebody with more experience than I have can say if I'm right on this. When I bought the 9-36 tires for my F-20, they just didn't look right. Of course, if you are not looking for "originality," then this may not matter. Wider tires would probably give better traction than the original 9.00-36. I remember that the F-20 I used (no weights, no water) slipped quite a bit in hard going.
