IH 656 Fan pulley and bearing

My 656 IH just recently blew out the fan bearing sending the fan directly into the radiator. (not a pretty sight) My question is that i purchased a new bearing and im trying to install it in the pulley. It seems like the shaft does not want to go into the pulley all the way and im worried that if not fitted correctly the pulley may walk itself off of the bearing shaft. I dont want to use heat on the pulley cause im worried that once installed the heat will melt the seal on the bearing. It looks like the shaft is a press fit into the pulley since there is no retainers such as a snap ring etc. Is there a trick to doing this properly? Thanks for any information

It is indeed a press fit. Find a hydraulic press and go for it. Not that difficult. Just make sure you press it on the correct distance.
