new 450 hyd pump

i replaced the hyd pump on my 450 to get it to steer better, i had it runnung just perfect then it would die all of a sudden, i took the distributer off and it looks like the tang just wasnt quite in the groove, i shimmed the tang so it was tighter and it hasnt missed a beat since, is there a hyd pump that works better in the drive than the a and i pump i put on?

Your fix seems to be a good one. If it is operational, I would do two things. Let the supplier know the issue you had, and enjoy the tractor running well. Replacement new pumps can be hard to find, and expensive. JimN
