Hi, I have an International 424 gas tractor. Over the last few months it has developed an issue with the carburetor. It leaks fuel and eventually drains the gas tank. I assume bad float or needle valve. The tractor ran fine so I procrastinated and just turned the fuel on and off when I used the tractor. Now the tractor is cutting out and popping whenever I load it. I noticed some moisture around the oil filter can and then opened up the oil filler cap to discover an unusual amount of crank-case pressure and oil spraying out of the hole.
Is it possible for the carburetor to have overflowed so much gas that it got in the crank-case? I thought maybe the crankshaft could be churning the oil if it were too high? But why the popping and cracking? Any ideas would be appreciated
