Farmall A freeze plug install help needed

To make a long story short I posted on this board about late november thinking I had a cracked block as many suggested well it ended up being a missing freeze plug the 2" one on the back of the engine. I bought one from the IH dealer and it slides right in its the conical one. Do I have to hit the center of the conical shape to seal the freeze plug into place? I have never installed one like this before the automobiles I have done are not this way.
any suggestions on how to do this would be great.
Thanks
Chad

Yes, you flatten the domed plug with a hammer. This expands it and locks it in place. Clean the hole well, and use some Loctite, as well, for extra safety.
