Super C Axle seal part #?

This project fixing leaks and a broken oiler gear in our tractor just keeps getting bigger and bigger..
Decided to replace the rear axle oil seals while we are into it this far, and as close as I could measure with my digital calipers, it is not a standard size shaft for the seals.

Did International like to use odd-ball sized seals that you can only buy from them? Does somebody have the National or CR interchange number?

Thanks.

Take the ID and OD dimension to your local Napa store, and they should be able to fix you up. If they can't then a bearing supply store will be able to.

I have a seal catalog. But the size of the shaft seems to fall in a range that is not covered by a standard seal. If it not in the catalog, I doubt that Napa would be able to do anything.

I got the IH part nos from the online parts directory. Napa crossed them over. Worked just fine. Bernie Steffen

Part # 380768R91.
Check NAPA for the replacement.

Also, I have a cheap digital caliper that I refuse to use for accurate specs. Three measurements, three answers. The seals are readily available.

I replaced them on a C that also had the oiler gear broke and got the seals from Car Quest nothing odd ball about em at all.

Amen and BTDT to that. A measurement that can't be repeated isn't terribly useful. I keep a cheap plastic dial caliper on the bench for sizing things like bolts or holes up quickly. Any measurement that matters, though, the good stuff is in the toolchest. I've got good mics to cover up to three inches for shafts. Those set me back enough that I haven't been able to justify/afford an inside mic, and so am still relying on verifying the reading from the "good" dial caliper by mic-ing a hole gauge. One of these days . . .

As for the seals, the last I knew, CaseIHNHFord still stocks them, though perhaps with a new number. Nothing exotic about them that I know of. If the local NAPA guy couldn't cross to CR and I needed it, I guess I'd have to spring for the extra and get it from the local dealer. That failing, a call to Bermuda Ken might be in order here.

Thanks all for your replies. I guess my calipers are not that accurate. Thanks to the person who recommended the IH website. Their new part look-up website is great, I got exploded views of the axle, and part numbers for all the seals. Then I went to Napa website and it could cross-reference the seals.

So thanks again.
