340 power steering

Supposin" I got a power steering unit for a Farmall 340 and it didn"t work, what do ya suppose it could cost to get it in operatin" condition? Am I correct in that it is plumbed directly off of one of the hydraulic blocks below the dash? This seems to get harder to steer every Saturday I take it out, or is it just the weather? As long as you are supposin" what do you suppose a unit would cost? Thanks in advance.

It is not just connected, it is attached to a valving system that is called a priority valve. it splits the hydraulic pressure, diverting an appropriate amount to the steering. This valve would not be on a tractor W/O PS. There is no way to diagnose it until it properly attached, and found to be not working. Supposing is way too vague. JimN
