replace engine in 756

I have a 756 with a D310 engine which has a hole in the side of the block due to a crank counterweight bolt failure. The tractor is quite old and I can't really afford to replace the engine. However I do have a 6.9L v8 truck engine.
Would anyone care to speculate as to the feasibility of installing the truck engine in this tractor?

I suppose it could be done but its going to take a lot of work and cash. Everything is going to have to be made custom from the frame rails, adapter plate, flywheel ect. If you want a truck engine try to find a 360 6 cylinder out of a bus or truck, much easier to install.

If there are no oil or coolant passages in that area of the block you can bolt or weld a patch over the hole and go from there. I knew of a 7700 John combine and a 400 diesel case that were repaired this way and they ran for years after they were repaired. If you want more information e-mail is open. Armand
