Farmall BN manifold

Hello. The manifold on my BN has a thin crack about 1 1/2 inches long on the exhaust portion. Would it work to grind it clean and put JB weld in there to fix it? Thought it would be worth a try or would it be a waste of time?
Thanks Bob

JB weld is good stuff but it won't stand up to that much heat. Don't ask me how I know.

You'll have to either braze it or buy a used or new manifold.

I know it does NOT work, I tried it on 302 Ford I had once, and yea, it don't stand up to the heat. You can get some cast welding rod or nickle rod and weld it, carefully.

Bob,
When you get that BN done and she"s running good, then you need to sell it to me. I"ve always wanted one of those neat little tractors.

Thanks everybody. Looks like I'll scrap the JB idea. It is so old and has gone through so many heat cycles that I'm not sure it will weld. Think I'll just replace it. I like my little tractor. My grandpa bought it new in 1946 and I've got it all restored. It is like still having a part of him around so I wouldn't ever want to sell it. Thanks for the input and saving me some time.
