540 PTO shaft broke off, IH 1486

I have a IH 1486 dual PTO shaft.
I broke the 540 PTO shaft off,

First, how much trouble is it to get the pto shaft housing off?? What do I need to look for when I unbolt the housing?

Second, Where might I find find the 540 shaft?

Well the whole unit must come out and taken completely apart as the back cover is the last thing to come off . You will need to make a spring compressor to comperss the spring in the clutch pack after the clutch pack is out to remove the clutch drum . When removing the PTo unit from the tractor it is best done with a cherry picker so that you can handle it and one must tip the back end down as not to bang the pickup tube coming out or going back in . Then it would be wise to get the test fittings and a hyd. test gauge good for 600 lbs to test lock up pressure . AND THE MAIN THING HERE IS A BOOK.

OK so I take that its not a whole lot to it?
I have a few transmission spring compressors and a back hoe to help lift it.

Got any idea where I can buy the shaft?

I have new 540 pto shafts on hand $121 Call me at 515-368-0533 if ya still need one.
