Any avid shooters out there that can answer my question? I've just been given a "few" rounds of 30-06 match ammo, in original Garand clips, in original ammo cans. There are some boxes that indicate it is 1962 stock, being marked:

CALIBER .30 MATCH
M72
BULLET 173 GRAINS
VELOCITY 2640 FPS
LAKE CITY ORDNANCE PLANT

Does anyone know if they would have corrosive primers?

I agree, should be non-corrosive. The Garand is a beast! Happy shooting.

By the way, what does it mean by "OT" in the subject line?

And Lake City Brass has been the traditional favorite for match shooter. be sure to keep it for reloading. Not sure what the premo set up is anymore but It used to be 167gr(I think)Sierra match kings.

Be careful or you'll shoot your eye out!

thanks for the replies gentlemen. Little over 2000 rds came my way today. Tried a few out in my old open sight CMP gun and held about a 3.25" group, offhand, at the hundred. Not anything to brag about, but I was happy enough. Man, the only thing I like better than the smell of gunpowder is new mown hay!

Oddly enough I have some of that myself.
It came from an Air Force NCO who shot National Match in the mid-late 60s.from what I understand this ammo was available to qualifiers for practice.
What I have shot thru my M1 has shot clean and accurate.
