Good deal on a '76 model 886... just under $5,000, C/H/A and everything working, t/a even works high and low with no slip. Owner has left it to sit out for the past three years since he quit farming, and the doors on both side have a line of rust about 5 inches wide just two inches off the door bottom that is rusted through on inside and outside (daylight seen from cab. Does anyone make a reman door for these that is reasonable and I've heard that there is a kit to be had that reverses the direction the door opens to the rear (suicide) like the older 1066's and such. Makes it a lot easier to climb in and out of one that way, and my Dad is getting up in years and it would make it a lot easier for him to get in and out.

It is possible to reverse the doors, but no one makes a kit to my knowledge. I don't know if the door opening the other way would make it much easier to get in or not... I've never had a problem on our 1086.

Doors that aren't rusted would be available from a salvage yard, or a body shop can weld patch panels on them.

Go to tractorseat.com, its the K&M Manufacturing company and there they have step kits with grab handles that make it easier to get into IH tractors. They make the nice grab handles for the insides of the doors that make it handier for closing, cylinder kits for the IH doors and lots of other things to choose from. I"ve heard of the kits for the doors that you were asking but I don"t know who makes them.
