what is the crankcase oil capacity of an F12? i picked up a beauty with an attached massey harris loader, on saturday. the oil seems quite thin so i'm changing it and the filter. how much oil should it take?
is there a way for gas to get into the oil pan? it doesn't appear to have any water mixed in. thanks.

According to an original owners manual the oil pan capacity is "Approx. 5 1/2 U.S. quarts". Just check the petcocks on the side of the pan to insure you have enough oil. The only way for gas to get into the oil pan would be if the diaphragm of the fuel pump has ruptured or has a hole in it. Smell the oil to check for gas in the crankcase. If you smell gas, then check the diaphram.

As Dave said, check the fuel pump diaphram. It could also be that the previous owner did not put in the right type of engine oil. I have not seen very many F-12's with a loader, could you post a picture?

Andy.
