Farmall B differance

After reading the dumb question replys down on this page I feel alot better about asking this question. I restore the other "red" tractors but have a question about the "B" series. I have read on some sites reference to the Farmall B, now I know what a BN is but have never seen just a plain B, is there a differance or are they one of the same? Thanks

about the only difference is in the width of the rear axles. the bn has a narrower (shorter) axle housing. (and i duuno if the a or the c is the same, but the b i have is the wheelie-est (is that a word?) popping tractor i have ever owned. you have to be extra careful with the clutch in first or second, i may have to hang a suitcase weight or two off the front.

Have never rauna B or A, but dad had a C, and we had no problem with front end coming up on it. Even with the mower mounted on the back it wans,t a problem.

About the only difference in the guts of them is that the differential shafts and housings on the B are each 4" longer than on the BN.

This results in a few odds and ends on the outside being different, mostly around the seat platform. On the BN, the seat platform is the same width as on the A, and the seat supports mount to the tranny on the left and the final drive on the right, same as the A. On the B, the floor pan and the pedal guard are wider, the right-hand seat support rests on a separate bracket that mounts on the floor pan, and the right brake shaft is longer.

I think glennster"s tractor is a Super B....they are turbocharged and equipped with a drag clutch...for high speed cultivating and plowing.....hehe!

OK.....it"s a joke...don"t anybody get their nnalert in a wad. We now return to normal illiterate programing.

A Farmall C is alot heavier and all around bigger tractor than an A,B or BN. We used to have concrete floor in only half of our shed. We'd hook a loaded straw wagon (about 100 bales) behind the little BN, drive in the west door and make a right turn and head out the south doors. That little tractor would pop a wheelie as soon as that wagon hit the 2 inch bump from the stones to the concrete. She'd scratch and paw alittle, then pop the wagon onto the floor. I can believe glennster.

Oh, yeah. The SBVD-TA. They only made two and I always wondered if they survived. To be very clear, glennster never made that claim.
