Engine has low oil pressure when warmed up,runs good otherwise. How long will it last this way?

Hi, is it a D-239 Diesel? Does it have actual oil pressure guage or idiot light. If idiot light replace the pressure sensor as the one on my brother's 684 went bad. Use 15W-40 in it. I believe most common problems for low oil pressure in D-239 is worn engine balancer or worn cam bearings.

Hi JSL, another thing to check is, pull out the crankcase dipstick and smell it for Diesel fuel smell or if the crankcase oil level keeps going up. The most likely cause is a leaking front drive shaft seal on the front of the fuel injection pump. The Diesel fuel will dilute the engine oil and cause low oil pressure at idle.
