Internationl 2444 running problems

I hope someone has had the same problem as this and can tell me what I need to do to correct it. I have an International 2444 gas. Not sure of the year but the plate on the side says # 05602. (Serial Number ?)
It ran good for some time but recently when I was mowing it would begin to lose power, sputter and finally quit running. (Like it was not getting the spark or the gas). I cleaned out the sediment bowl, air cleaner filter, inline fuel screen at the carburetor and made sure the fuel cap vent holes were not plugged.
All the filters appeared to be ok but I cleaned them anyway. It still acted as before. Someone suggested the ignition coil was breaking down. I installed a new one and still the same problem. More recently it began to act this way most of the time, even when not mowing but just driving it while it is not under a load.
There is fresh fuel in it, although it is regular gas and not as the manual I have says to use 93 octane. People I have checked with say it is OK to run regular fuel in this tractor and that it is not necessary to use a high octane rating of 93.
Each time it acts up and quits it will start up and run again almost immediately after it has quit but then quit again after a short while.
If anyone has experienced this problem or knows what may be wrong I would really appreciate your input and suggestions you may have to correct this problem. My email address is [email protected] Thanks.

Maybe you have a little crud in your tank that move over the outlet and is cutting of your fuel flow. May even be a float adjustment issue. Is your float sinking. I had one on my SC develop a microscopic hole this spring, and it acted much the same way as the float sank. Might try a new condensor, but most I had go bad were dead and the tractor just quit and would not start again. The cheap gas(Hehehe!) is fine in them.

Thanks Georgeky for the tip. I was planning on blowing air back up through the line to the tank tomorrow and see if it runs longer before quitting. Then checking the sediment bowl to see if it is not filling up fully when it quits. Also going to check if there is a good flow from the fuel pump to the carb. Maybe if there is crud in the tank I can put the line up inside the tank further from the bottom to stop it from plugging up. Yep cheap gas isn't it :) Ours is 5.85 a Canadian gallon which is 4.91 a USA gallon for regular. The premium which is only 91 octane rating is out of site here...6.50 a Candian gallon or 5.48 a USA gallon. No way I want to have to start using premium in it. If I had to I would use regular and add octane boost I think.

That sure sounds like a fuel starvation problem. I'd pull the carb, take it apart, and clean all the ports and jets. A carb rebuild kit may be in order.

I once cleared some sort of gunk out of the carb on my 544 by blowing 90psi shop air into the fuel inlet, but I made sure I had a rebuilding kit on hand.

I think the last elbow in the fuel line before the carb has a screen or something in it ? Not sure on that though.

Thanks for your input John. I can't seem to find a carb rebuild kit locally as yet so would need to order one online and wait, and I didn't want to take the carb all apart without having one on hand either. :) actually didn't really want to rip it all apart at all but if that was my last resort I would. Thanks again.

Do you hear the fuel pump running? Before mine worn out completely it would stop running and then the engine would die when the fuel in the carburetor was used up. A bad fuel solenoid or loose connection at the fuel shut off solenoid will also cause the engine to die.

I have been running mine with nothing but 87 octane (R/M) for 31 years and over four thousand hours and it still runs fine.

yep you are correct, there is a small inline filter at the elbow going into the carb. I had already taken that out and cleaned it even though it still looked OK. I am in the process of taking apart the fuel line from tank to sediment bowl.
Appears there was a bit of crud in the tank. Fuel flow has improved after blowing air back up the line to the tank. Going to clean out the tank as best I can and fabricate a tube that will protrude up into the tank about an inch so there will be less crud apt to get in the line. Searched all over today to try to find a small inline filter I could put on the end of the line inside the tank similar to the one that is at the elbow of the line at the carb but had no luck.
Thanks to everyones suggestions I just may have my problems solved.....I hope..will let ya know how it works out for me.

Just a shot in the dark here but would anyone know what year my tractor is. I have a serial number book of tractors but mine is not in it.
The plate on the side of the tractor says:
Model 2444
Serial 05602
Thanks
