Farmall 140 serial # mystery

I'm working on my neighbors 140. I was going to date it, but the tag # is off the charts! It reads "Mccormick Farmall. Model 140 serial number 60791 J. Every list I find ends before this. What am I missing? I've been known to miss a detail, but this has me stumped.

Thanks

Kevin

(quoted from post at 16:30:34 07/14/08) It could be a 1975 tractor and it has the Rockford clutch. Hal

Amazing, I go back and look at the list and notice something important..."STARTING serial number".
Don't I feel dumb.
Well at least I DID know that the J meant Rockford clutch, so maybe that will buy me a reprieve.

John,
I think maybe I have been working too hard.

The 140 belongs to the man that lets me use his field to grow my corn for grinding and my sorghum for syrup making. I get to use his land free of charge, use this 140 whenever one of my other don't feel like running, get tons of free advise and get to listen to hundreds of stories of how things used to be, and he has the nerve to ask me how much I'M going to charge HIM to fix it.
Can you believe the gall?

(quoted from post at 17:37:30 07/14/08) Late 1976, looks like you need new charts.

This is the chart from the serial # section of this site, and it matches exactly the one in my "Field guide to Farmall Tractors"
It stops at 1975. Do you have a list going into 1976?
Thanks
Kevin

Ken Updike's data book. 1976 beginning and ending serials are 57296-60838. Last serial is in 1979, 66790. Only data books I trust are Ken's and Guy Fay's, they are not perfect, but are as good as it gets. Call Ken at Carter and Gruenewald and see if he still has them.

Thank you very much. I'll have to get me a copy.

I do work for others that help me. I have several that we work back and forth. I always offer to pay and expexct the same. I always refuse payment and so do the others. He probably feels as I do offering to pay lets you decide rather than expecting not to pay and not offering.
I have a service business and often do small things for nothing. I do not like it when they do not offer to pay.
just my 2 cents for what its worth

My list show it to be a very late 1976.

This information is NOT from Ken or Guy's books.
