Farmall problem with oil

I have a 1954 Farmall Super C. It keeps gradually losing hydraulic oil, and as I refill it I have found that it keeps gradually gaining engine oil. Is there a seal somewhere in the front of the engine block where the pump is located that could leak into the crankcase? I didn"t think there was, but the evidence seams to point in that direction!

There is seal that is on the pump shaft that is leaking into the crank case. You have to remove the pump and take apart the pump and change the seal out. If the pump shaft has a ridge or groves in it then you may need to put a speedi sleeve on it to get a good sealing surface. Over all its a pretty easy fix, just time consuming removing the hydro lines and pump in all. I would sugest a manual that way you know how to work on the pump.

Here's a breakdown on the pump. Hal
PS: Case/IH should have a kit.

Good to know I don't have to rip apart the whole front of the tractor. Thanks for your help. Sounds like you have done it before?
