Will a IH 2001 loader fit on a IH 656 without any modification? What are the differences between a IH 2000 loader which is listed for my tractor "utility" and the 2001 which is listed for the "Ag" tractor?

nbj, The 2001 has a single cylinder hyd. bucket, the 2000 has a dual. They were both sold with a variety of mountings to fit all IH tractors from the H-M and newer. Were made with at least six different sub frames, and a dozen different front brackets to fit both Farmall and IH tractors. So the trick is to find one with the right mountings or at least close enough for little modification. Good luck, Chuck

Chuck, Thanks for the quick reply. The 2001 loader has been on a 560 and an 806. Any guidance regarding if this this will fit my 656? Thanks, Nick

nbj, My manual just goes as new as the 606 so I will guess the 656 has a similar frame. If the loader was originaly equiped for a 560 it would have the right subframe, but consider what someone may have done to it for the 806, they have a hexagon axle. The front brackets are different between Farmall and International. The bolt pattern is not the same and the utilities hold the front of the suframe about 6-8 inches higher in comparision to the tractor front. The manual shows the same brackets for the International 340, 504, 460, and 606. I could mail you a copy of the pages with the brackets on if that would help. It would give you a picture of what they look like. Good luck, Chuck
