BIGGEST INTERNATIONAL

i dont think that is right because after i posted this message i was looking thur external_link and a 784 international has a 4 cyl. dieseal and it has 100 hp engine and 66 pto. dose anybody know if these are good tractors or not and how many bottom plows it would pull thur clay soil.

784 has about 65-70 drawbar HP. I used to drive one. That particular tractor was a true lemon, BUT I have never heard anyone else criticize them, most call them good tractors. I don't pay any attention to external_link because of the mistakes.

TD 14 used a 460.7 CID and if you include mccormick deering the WD 40 and some others used the same CID. May or may not be the biggest, not sure.

Well if you mean most powerful, then look at the 884. It's slightly "bigger" than the 784.

The 85 and 95 series, while CaseIH, are essentially the same tractors as the 84 series.

In yalls oppinion, what is the best, biggest 4cyl diesel fuel efficient tractor international every made? sorry for all the carifications.

NCFarmer, Iam guessing you are not wanting to buy one but the most efficient biggest wheel tractor would be the WD9-650. Good luck, Chuck

CNKS: I have to agree with you, 784 and 884 are no match for a stock 6 cylinder 560D or 656D. My comparison is new 84 series against 10,000+ hours 560 and 656.

Hugh, The HP rating is misleading on many of these newer tractors. According to how they are rated a 584 should outpull an M and a 684 would work with a 560. Either comparison would be a total joke. I have not been around a 784 or 884 but they would not stand a chance with a WD9. Somehow the horses became ponies. Chuck

Chuck: In the past 25 years, lot of these manufacturers are going flywheel hp, and calling it the gospel. I guess they figured we all died off.

Is there a formula or something to compare present day horse power to "old" horse power. How many bottoms would a WD-9 pull thur clay?

NC, My WD9 has not been suped up except it has the oversized 4.5 inch pistons so it is a 350 cubic inch engine now. I widened the rims by 6 inchs for 18.4x34 tires. I pulled a model 70 5x14 plow, never found anthing under decent conditions it could not handle. Had it on a dyno once they said it put out 72 horse. Good luck, Chuck
