Farmall Super C / 140 PTO

Is the PTO unit on a Super C the same as the one on a 140?

Longbow: I saw this at noon, didn't answer as I'm not certain. I think most of it is the same, with the exception of the input shaft. Seems to me I remember someone saying the input shaft on SC, 200, etc is longer. I'm not up to snuff on those larger versions. Be patient, someone on YT who knows for certain will be along.

No they are not the same. I think engine speeds are different, thus different gearing to get 540 rpm on PTO. The 140 shows drive gear on PTO shaft to have 44 teeth and Super C has 49 teeth. Shifter tube is different also as well as other parts. The PTO assembly might fit on the 14O if you used the 140 shifter tube, but speed would not be correct.
