I have an IH 460 and would like to rebuild the hydraulic pump. I can't seem to find a kit locally but the manual shows that there is one. If anyone knows of where to get the kit or where I could find parts please reply. The serial # is 3615S-Y, pump # A70933C91. Also this # 15527-6C is stamped on the housing.

Thanks very much.

When you get on www.oldoakfarmalls.com/ web site
click on FIXING 60 SERIES HYDRAULICS down on the
left side of the screen. They describe the hydraulic problems on their 460 and how they solved them. Hal

L 24502 Cessna Hydraulic pump in reply to Steve Dawson, 02-13-2006 17:26:00
I took a Cessna pump L24502 LAG AK 31 AD off of my '74 Ford's 730 front end loader. Pump is OK but wore out the 13-spline 7/16" ID output shaft. Was unable to buy parts for it. Replaced with a Parker P16100A-2N - $316.45. Part numbers are not at all close to your's to help you out. Let me know if you need any more info. (I have two Farmalls, H & M. Love them whereas I have no emotional ties to the Ford).

Take a look on the suction side of the pump as that is where the most wear occurs. There is also 20-25% more load on the idler gear than on the drive gear so take a look at the bearings for the idler shaft. An old rule was if you have to put more than 60% of the cost of a new pump in the old one don't do it. Now also clean the system good when you get your pump. There is also a rule of thumb if you do not flush the system well the second pump will not last near as long as the old pump. New pump, new fluid new filter and then you will be set.

Tractor Vet is right. That's the problem with the aluminum body pumps. I've had numerous aluminum body power steering and hyd. pumps rebuilt at our local machine shop, if there is no replacements available. Our machinist is really sharp. He'll check specs on other hyd. pumps or oil pumps until he finds a set of gears slightly larger than the worn pump housing. He then mills the gears to get the proper clearance with the refaced walls of the pump. Gets real costly, but makes a nice job.

Don't even waiste your time R&R it and be done with it as a kit will not gain you a thing as the housing is wore that is why ya can't find a kit nobody does them inhouse anymore .

The gears & housing are fine. When I bought the tractor it was summer & when it got cold I found the fluid was full of water & the filter screen was full of slush. I have changed the oil & the filter 3 times and the pump was working til this saturday when it lost pressure and stopped working. The pump looks like it has been just replaced. When I dismantled the pump I found the diaphrams to have pit marks. Any ideas?

Yep R&R pumps both of them and start all over with changing fluid and filters as just one change will not get it all . One 460 that i had the axel bearing went out and i had a lot of fileings in the rear end we even pulled the PTO out and the top deck off cleaned it all out with diesel fuel and gas hot water and strong soap blew dry with air put it all back together with new HyTran and filters and in a half hour it had pluged filters i went thru a case of filters and 55 gal of oil before it was clean just glad that it did not take my pumps out as soon as the filters pluged you could tell and that is where we would pull the filters and replace . So if your pumps have a problem and since ya can't get the parts anymore then you have vary littel choise . Now not sayen that there is not one or two NOS pkgs. layen on a dusty old shelf , one thought here You may try Clyde Burkshire in Royal Center Ind. if anybody in this country would have one left he would be the man that would have it.
