Does anyone know where one would be able to obtain the correct mounting brackets for a Woods L59 to a Super A? I recently purchased a L59 mower that had originally been setup on a Kubota, but need to convert it for use on my Super A. As an alternative if anyone knows of any detailed schematics I can use to fabricate the parts with that would be helpful also.

i bought my l59 at an auction, it didnt come with the bracket to attach to my super a nor did it come with the belt pulley. i bought the big bracket that blots between the final drives for about 60.00. the pulley is what was so expensive, it cost me about 80.00. then a week later i saw the same pulley on ebay for 10.00. the woods part numbers are:
the big bracket (idler and mounting bracket assembly) - 9238
2 small pulleys for the bracket is (v- idler sheave with bearing) 4336 X's 2 (need 2 of them)
then the belt pulley and adapter piece (drive sheave 9.4 p.d.) 1481 and then the bushing is (bushing with bolds) 3651.

these are all the part numbers and there descriptions. i have the parts breakdown page for everything you need to bolt it up. there are some other pieces that are usualy already on the mower, but if they are gone you will need to buy them also.

if you want i can try to scan the 2 pages of my manual. 1 page has a drawing, and the other page has the part number and descriptions. believe me it makes it alot easier to mount this mower with the corect pieces. otherwise you will end up chewing up a 50.00 belt twice a year because of alignment problems with homemade brackets.

i can also give you the number to my local dealer who could order for you if you dont have a local dealer or your local dealer wants your first born for the parts.

my dealer is Abingdon Equipment Co.
Abingdon VA.

oh yea, almost forgot, you will need a belt, these are expensive, for the l59 to A or Super A it is part number 4152

for the l306 to super a is 5711.

i dont recomend the true woods brand (to expensive)

a-pix makes them for about 30.00 cheaper.

there part numbers are a-4152 and a-5711.

a woods brand l306 belt cost me 85.00 and a pix brand cost me about 40.00. and they have lasted just as long as a woods belt did for me.

i get them from general ruber and plastics.
bristol Tn. 423-764-7126 i deal with Cameron. hes a Irish dude.

John: The frist problem you have is mounting, and the second is the drive. L-59 only works well on a Super A if driven from the belt pulley shaft and not the PTO. Problem with PTO drive on a SA, you cant install large enough pulley to drive it at proper speed. The belt will undoubtedly be different length. I don't see that you have much choice but go to Woods for a Mount Kit, Drive Kit and Belt. Your probably going to put a awful dent in $1,000.

Some of these are quite easy to modify, but from a Kubota to a Super A, just spells trouble.

Thanks Hugh

I actually do have the belt pulley shaft and the pulley for the mower with it. I have a belt although I am not sure it is the correct length. I think I have what I need, except the semi-hard mount between the tractor and the mower deck.

John: In that case, send me an e mail. I will send you photos of a conversion I did going from a Farmall B to a Super A. My hookup works very well, does not scuff the belt. Just not sure the photos will show you enough. Lets try anyhow,I'll send photos, and you can ask questions later.

A dealer that sells Woods -- the local NH dealer sells them here -- won't be cheap.
