Cub touch control

I want to get a rebuild kit for my touch control unit, but there is a problem. The part number 351981R- is legible, but the number after the R has been ground off by something. The date code on the casting of the unit is "R", amking it a 1938. Can I safely assume this is an "R-!" when I order the rebuild kit?
Anyone know the kit # I should ask for? Also, about what are they going for?

The Cub didn't enter into production until '47, so the R code would have to be from 1948. The PN of the Touch Control Block should be 351981-R1 for the early casting.
