It seems that installing the "Worksaver" brand 3-point Hitch" adapter to a '47 Super A requires removal of the standard drawbar. Is there another type of drawbar (swinging drawbar ?? ) that can be mounted between the bull gears using the new 3-point mounting plates that will allow pulling a chain harrow/ belly mower, etc ?? How about another brand of 3 point hitch that doesn't require removal of standard draw bar?? Thanks !!! J.R.

Every 3 pt hitch I have seen for the Super A series requires removing the drawbar. I never thought of mounting the 3 pt over the existing brackets as noted below. That might work, but seems the drawbar would be in the way of the 3 pt, but maybe not. I had a 140 with a 3 pt hitch, and I used a cross bar in the hitch arms for a drawbar and then later had a bracket made so the cross bar was stabilized by the top link so the cross bar would not rotate.

Haas...Is your 3 point the type where the top link mounts to the rear rockshaft? The reason I ask is because I've always been a little concerned that that the top link would transmitt pressure back thru the rear rockshaft to the front rockshaft arm. That set-up worries me a little. Do you think I need to be concerned about that? Pete

I sold the 140 that had the 3 point hitch some years ago. But, yes it had the top link bracket attached to the rear rockshaft with U bolts. I never liked that, and the relationship to the lift arms was not right, so I had a bracket fabricated that attached to the drawbar mounting holes on top of the lift arm brackets. It came up at about 45 degree angle to an appropriate location and then a heavy cross bar with the top link bracket. I had 2 or three holes in the bracket for different positions of the top link. Worked a lot better than the one mounted to the rockshaft. Also, as I recall it was not compatible with any PTO work because it was in the way of that, but the offset PTO doesn't fit very well with the 3 pt anyhow.

JR...I have a Super A with a Worksaver 3 point and while the instructions say to remove the drawbar and brackets, I did not. I just left it on and put the Worksaver bracket over the orginal drawbar bracket. I've never had any problems with it set-up this way. If I remember right, I did have to remove the original studs that were in the final drive and instead use longer bolts.

Pete - were you able to pull various implements (tyne harrow or belly mower)with the drawbar that you left on while the 3-point hitch was attached ? What do you use the 3-point for? I've heard it has limited strength and range. I want to use a cone spreader and perhaps a sprayer (weed killer). Even an auger if one worked with the unit and the machine had the guts to work it. Are implements with "flex-shafts" needed because of the offset PTO shaft? I also assume I would attach the shaft to the rear cross bar and the left front rocker arm that had the largest arc of travel (of the two). Thanks for your time. JR
