Hey Guys,

I know this belongs on the Implement discussion board, but this board has the most experience on all things IH. I'm talking to a guy about buying a #412 3-14 plow that he has. He lives about 120 miles away from me so I haven't acutually seen the plow. Can anyone direct me to a photo on this site or another of a #412 plow. Could anyone perhaps post a photo or drawing from aparts book or manual? Anyone have an opinion about how much this plow might be worth? The fella says its in real nice shape and that it is complete.

Thanks in advance,

Thor

I have a 412 that was 4-16 and I drop the last bottom off. I pull it with a 400 and really like that plow. It pull good and does a nice level job of plowing.

I'm looking at an operators manual right now. A 412 is semi-mounted with 4 bottoms & 2 point fast hitch. It was available with either rigid beams or trip beams, mechanical lift or hydraulic lift, 12 14 or 16" bottoms and a gauge wheel. You can remove one bottom to convert to 3 bottoms. I'll see if I can scan something and email it to you tonight.
A 5 bottom model 512 in excellent shape went for $110 at an auction in central NY earlier this summer.

I also have a 412 2-point plow and I have been looking for a copy on an owners manual. Could you help me? Do you have an orginal or a copy that somebody is selling? Thanks for your help.

I may be mistaken but I think a 412 is a semi mounted 4 bottom plow. Could it be that the fourth bottom has been removed? Plows do not seem to bring a lot of money anymore. I recently bought a nice 311 mounted 3-14 plow for my 504 at an auction for $125. Seems like we had a 412 we pulled behind a 560 when I was a kid.
