How hot can the oil pump drive gear be heated too for installation without damaging it, Blue book says up to 370-395 degrees it will slide on hand ,that won't work already found that out the hard way.

I put a gear on a dt358 crank-just heated it by holding it in front of a salamander heater. Slid right on.easy-peasy.Mark.

Clean the shaft and polish then hone the gear till it will go on. Chilling the shaft with dry ice will shrink it before attempting the install. Jim
