Engine transplant.

About to begin the process of installing a DT 466 in a 666D. Will be changing the front and rear covers to adapt to the narrow frame, lengthening the frame, installing a triple disk clutch, and doing a TA delete. What do I need to do in the area of the transmission and final drives to withstand 4-500 HP?

I suspect with the triple disk clutch this will be a pulling tractor. I have no idea what you can do to strengthen the drive train in that tractor it is not all that beefy to begin with. I suppose folks have run some pretty big power through 560s and they hold up fair as far as I know. I know the bull gears are a fair bit heavier in a 666 than in a 560. There is also a Pullers forum on this site it may get you a better answer if you posted down there.

4th gear might be questionable, the rest of the trans will be fine, if your going to get serious about pulling it have the differential needled.
