sludge and pump

I am going to drop the oil pan on my 1940 A. The purpose is to clean out the sludge. I have good pressure throughout the engine temperature span. At 550rpm its 10 pounds or more and at 1400 its 40 or more. I put on a readable gauge.
I want to clean the pump and not sure if I should remove it which makes me concerned as to getting it reinstalled meshing the gearteeth again.
Should I just spray the pump screen with brake cleaner and not take it out being it works fine? Thoughts?

drain the old oil out then add couple quarts of new oil and run tractor few minutes to clean out oil gallerys. then drain and remove pan and do a good cleaning. no need to be tearing pump apart. just make sure screen is clean.
