46 baler update 2

Well part of the hay was ready yesterday and he gave it a try.
He made 47 bales with it and had very little trouble. He said
he did have 2 break and a couple short ones but other wise a
flawless operation and good test for the old girl and him. I tried
to post a video but it wouldn?t go. Here are a few pictures he
sent me. Again very proud of this kid.

How did your bales break - missed knot or broken twine? I have the same baler so I know what you're dealing with.

For what it is worth, folks up in this area with old balers that start giving them trouble tying are switching to the 9000 orange plastic twine from TSC and the problem goes away. I personally have solved my tying problems with my old Case 200 baler by switching and know of 3 others who have. Another plus is it is less than 1/2 the price of sisal twine.

Sisal twine has become crap and that kind of twine won't do well on a model 46. I opened a bale last year and discarded about 1/3 of one ball that no baler on the planet could have made work. The manual for a 46 says not to use plastic but that was written back in the 1960's. I'd love to hear from someone that is using it on a 46 and any changes they did to make it happen.

Everyone that I have talked to who switched to it including myself had to do nothing, just put it in and start baling. It is unbelievable the difference. I was very skeptical myself until I tried it. As to the sisal, I have had to throw away a lot from the center before it would pull out without breaking. I agree they have made junk out of it.
