I have a 2504 that the electronic ign.went out.Decided to go back to points.I threw old points away. Now cant find correct points to put in.Caseih dealer has set supposed to fit but to short to reach point contact. This is an industrial 2504 with trencher and 2000 loader. Can anyone shed some light on this.

i put points in my dads 504 a couple weeks ago the ones they gave me had the contacts were inline but were wrong. took them back and the parts man did a search. he found that i needed the pionts that had the contacts offset to the side. i suspect that you need the offset ones also.

Yep, just put points in mine last week. The adjustable contact has an arch in it that offsets it. The dealer said the distributor must have come out of something else, but reading these posts they must have the wrong part number.

I still have the part number out in the shop if you need it.

Hey Donald would you have part number of those points you put in your 504.if you do please post it.Thanks Jim

Should be the same points as any 4-cylinder Farmall made from the first letter series with electric ignition, to the last 140s and Farmall Cubs rolling off the line in 1979.

Unless, someone has replaced the distributor with aftermarket. It could be a Prestolite distributor.
