I'm pretty sure I need to replace the gasket behind the control valve assembly.I have the gasket in hand.I know I need to drain to hydraulic fluid etc,my question is - Can I remove the bolts around the perimeter of the control assembly and just pull the unit out in order to replace the gasket or is there more involved? I have a pretty good leak in that area and I'm thinking it's the gasket.Any help would be appreciated!

We were messing around with the 424 today,it seems as though you can't get the trans shifter cover off,nor the control vale because they are in the way of each other. It appears the only way to get the control valve off the front of the lift housing is to remove the entire lift housing. We did find a loose bolt on the valve assembly which may be causing part of the leak, also the o-ring on the suction filter was the incorrect size,it may have been leaking there as well.We ordered a few parts today,we'll make the repairs and see what it does for the leak.If I do have to disassemble the lift housing,I will do my best to post pics.

Today we removed the lift housing filter, cleaned it,put it back in,made a few small repairs, added new hytrans oil to the lift housing. The leak is repaired so it seems, the 3pt hitch will only lift 200lbs. It will react to position lever movements immediately,it drops faster than it lifts though. It also seems as though the "fast/slow" control has no effect on the lifting speed. The 3 pt hitch will lift faster as the engine rpm's increase,it seems as though it also has more power as the engine rpm's increase. It's acting almost like it's not getting enough fluid the the hitch lift. Can anyone make any suggestions as to what we should try next?
