I removed nut and keeper from steering shaft. tried steering wheel puller but could not move steering wheel. Is there another threaded nut to remove before pulling steering wheel? I could not tell from parts detail blow-up.
Thanks

Steering wheel can be very hard to remove due to being on for so long. Are you replacing the steering wheel or doing some thing else?? If your replacing it you can maybe heat it up. Also with the puller on and tighten up did you hit the puller with a hammer many times that will pop then right off

I'm not sure but I would bet your rusted together at the spline. You most likely will need WD-40 or something like that or some heat. But by all means find a break down to make sure.

On my 340 utility I had to break the plastic off and heat the wheel hub thoroughly,
cant remember but may have actually even split the hub with a torch, I know I had
to do that on several of them.

WD-40 is not very good for that since it is a water displacement stuff not a very good lube

I assume my 450 steering wheels are the same--straight, fine splines. I threaded in proper bolts--1/4 NF as I recall. Hit the puller with an impact. Bolts pulled out of the hub. Tapped it out larger, hit it again, finally pulled off. Wasn't easy, took time, but I got it. Make sure to clean the spline with a wire brush/brush and coat with anti-seize.

Thanks for the replies. probably will have to replace steering wheel. already bent it out of shaped attempting to use wheel puller

Doesn't matter what magic potion you try to use, you'll be waiting an eternity for it to soak in and do something, if it ever does. Most likely the rust has completely filled even the smallest microscopic gaps between the splines, and it will never soak in.

If you want it off NOW, you will need to use heat. Shop around, you can find reproduction steering wheels fairly inexpensively.
