Well, I decided to retire this year. My boss/friend hosted a retirement dinner. He said as a retirement gift he found some Farmall things that I might be interested in:

While I was looking at the dealer tag, he asked if wouldn’t it be nice to see the tractor it went with? Sure, and about the third time he asked, I finally caught on and looked out the window:

My wife wife says now I have another mistress in the stable!
 
My boss is a 7th generation family farmer. I worked for his side business selling and servicing manure separation equipment plus related pumps, etc. Although his preference was for blue tractors, he knew mine was for red. A very fair, smart, and generous person.
 
I am really impressed with how you describe your former boss. Your words say an awful lot about the character of each of you. Very rare mutual respect in this day and age.

Nice looking 450. I spent a LOT of time on a 450 gas with FH when I was in middle school and Jr. High
School. Couple of those years I did ALL the fieldwork except planting corn.

I'd get it all painted up, maybe take it on a couple tractor rides.
 
That is a sweet story which captures the true essence of life at its best. Your wife sounds like a "good sport" about this - which is a real asset to any man's happiness. I am happy for all of you.
