Today I took possession of my dad's 1964 B414. It last ran a few years ago but there were issues with rust and crud in the fuel tank clogging things up.
You can see a fair amount of rust inside the tank. I notice that there is no fuel filter on this tractor. There is a shutoff valve at the bottom of the tank (which looks impossible to reach) and a steel fuel line to the fuel pump.
My plan is to take the tank off, clean it well and coat the inside with POR or similar. When I put it all back, it seems to me that I should install a fuel filter. I guess I would cut the hard fuel line and install an inline filter with rubber fuel hose. Bad idea?
