NO ATF is a high detergent type of oil that is also thin so it gets places tat most stuff take a very long time to get to.

I have used, like, and consider Rislone as primarily a cleaning agent I added to the oil to help free up sticky hanging valve lifters or maybe rings and a good general flush n clean, while I consider ATF more as a lubricant although still with some detergent properties. When I un stick an engine I had best luck with a mixture of Diesel Fuel, Brake Fluid and ATF.

There?s quite a few potions I believe are worth their weight in gold, but 8 think Rislone is junk. I?ve probably tried it on engines that were shot so
it wouldn?t have worked anyway, but I?ve never had it help anything. Lucas products will usually do what they brag.

Rislone is pretty harsh and cleans almost too well, tends to loosen up a lot of crud real fast, I don't care for that crud circulating thru the bearings etc. When I get a new to me rig, I just change the oil for a good detergent, and change again quickly when it shows color to get the crud out, repeat as necessary until it stays clear for a while, gets the crud out slowly, lets the filter catch a lot

I don't understand that...….ATF is used as hydraulic oil in many applications and a high detergent oil would not be recommended in that application
any evidence contrary is welcome
