'47 M Belly Pump Seals

Hello all! I am going to be dropping my belly pump on my M next week to try to get the seals replaced to stop the leaks. Wondering if anyone has the seal
numbers I need to order for it? This will be my first venture into a hydraulic pump, and would like to only do this once. Any other recommendations while I am
in there? Does the pump have a series of o-rings, springs, or anything inside that I should replace while I have it out?

Any help is appreciated. (Photo is of my '42 H and '47 M parked together in the shade, and of my '42 H in the thick where I have been doing some clearing).
Thank you!

There is a gasket between the 2 halves you might want to change. You will need something or someone to help lowering the pump as it is quite heavy. I've used a floor jack before but still really needs two people. I'm not aware of anything you need to change or could get parts for if you did want to change something. On the seal the worst case is to get the number off the seal and take it to an auto parts place. I haven't looked but this site might have the seal.

I appreciate the input. I did some hunting on the CASE-IH site (As big of a pain it is to find any parts on there).... Ended up locating the pump diagram (link below)... Did a cross reference with the SKF Seal guide and found the following numbers. Figured I would add it to the post so then it is archived. Here is what I have:

Hyd pump drive shaft seal IH #43509D Replaced by 938294R91, crosses to SKF# 13649
Gasket (Pump to reservoir) IH # 15081E
Control Shaft Seal IH # 19812D, crosses to SKF# 7512
Relief Valve Gasket IH # 15259E
Improvement Kit (to raise early Lift All pumps from 500 to 800 PSI) IH # 15261EX
Trans shaft seal for lower shaft IH # 381907R91, crosses to SKF# 16113
Upper trans main shaft seal IH # 71871C1, crosses to SKF# 20702

I am thinking I might try to do the transmission input shaft seals as well since I will be in there. I should have done them when I split the tractor, but I was too focused on getting the motor back together and running I guess. Little by little, it will get there. I installed the pump that was missing on my H when I got it, so I know that they can be cumbersome to handle. A floor jack and some decent cribbing can help greatly in the installation/removal of the pump. I have seen guys use T-bars, threaded rod, etc. I didn't have any issues with the floor jack method. I know an M pump is quite a bit larger, but should be pretty similar in method.

Its been a long time since I did any of mine so I forgot about the other seals. Concerning the upgrade kit did the site actually say they had them? Usually they don't carry any parts for what is considered an accessory unless its a seal or bearing or something like that.

The upgrade kit only said 'call' in the availability column. I doubt they have anything, as it seems it is even difficult to find the parts schematics on the CASE-IH site. Almost like they are driving you to scrap your reliable old tractor and get into a $25k+ compact utility tractor.

Now why would I do that?

Ken the seal and the main gasket is still available thru IH,The seal was about $19.00 and it was a SKF, But that drive dog does come off, which i didn't know, so don't take the pump apart unless there is another reason, maybe you read my thread! Mine had a 1,000 lb's of pressure with new hy-tran in it !

Ken is you'r tractor 146397 serial number or higher, mine was, just take the front cover off, and then stick up a brass punch, or a piece of aluminum up the intake to wedge the gears, or anything soft not to hurt the oil pump gears, and take the drive dog off the front that will save you a lot of trouble, Jim N, and D Slater was the one that suggested that, i was to stupid to figure that out!

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure how far I will go into the pump - it seems to operate well (no noise, creep, etc.), it just leaks. If I can stop the leaks I think it will be good. I will know once I get into though (will be making video for my YouTube channel on the project). I think it will really help others in the future, as there is literally nothing out there when it comes to these pumps.

Thanks for the info, Charlie. I am considering doing the input shaft seal as well as the output shaft seal for the transmission to lift all pump as well since I am in there. If I am correct, the driver on the transmission is standard thread (from what I have red).

Thanks again for the heads up.

1000 lbs of pressure would be great! I think I have the earlier pump, though. We will see what everything looks like when I get the pump out. Not a huge project, but definitely a heavy one.
