Farmall 806 Serial Number Question

Farmall 806 serial number 6228y is what year and what does the y mean? Also when did the clam shell fenders get replaced with the later style fenders with the lights in the fenders. If you happen to know the serial number break that would be helpful.

Thanks: Bill Perry

At one time they used the Y at the end of the serial number for the diffferent gas engines on the industrial tractors. There should be a number or a number with letters after the Y. Don't know what the Y means on the later models.

According to "Classic Farmall Tractors" by Kenneth Updike the Flattop lighted fenders we're introduced with the 1206 in 1965 and applied to the rest of the line at that time. Info is on page 88.

Thanks: Good information on the fenders. That means the 64 had the clam shell style fenders that was on Serial number 501,ie. the first one. There is a picture of 501 in one of the Farmall books but I don't remember which one at the moment.
