Farmall 450 gas- starter problem

I have a Farmall 450 gas with a starter/ignition problem. When pushing the starter button, it cranks with a "short chattery" sound. Occasionally, it will stick and continue running after the engine has started. It sounds smooth then, while running even tho the engine has started. There is nothing I can do when it continues running. I play with the starter button, and nothing affects it. It has a mind of it's own, and after maybe 30 seconds, it stops. I thought it was the stater button causing this, and replaced it. The same thing happens with the new button. I have replaced the starter solenoid, thinking that may be causing it. Same thing happens. I have checked the wiring diagram and connections, and cannot seem to find anything wrong. The starter is probably about 4 years old, and has not had that much use, only starting 10,12 times a year. If it was a starter problem, why wouldn't it shut off when the power from the starter button is cut off when released? The continuous running problem only happens occasionally. Maybe once in 6 or 7 starts.

Anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Unless you have a wiring problem it sounds like you still have a bad starter switch (solenoid). Is this a original 12 volt 450 with a wire attached to both small posts on the switch? If so one wire goes to push button switch and the other to - side of resister or end that the ignition switch wire is not on. Sometimes lower power to solenoid will cause it to heat and stick Or a starter drawing to much current.

Didn't add that if it has a wire like I mentioned on the I terminal of starter switch and switch sticks closed the wire will feed current to the coil even if the ignition switch is turned off and engine will continue running.
