M manifold question

I've got a M with low compression pistons and sleeves. The manifold is shot and now somebody has a good deal on a used high compression manifold. I was told while the high compression manifold will fit it will not draw the air/fuel mixture as it should. Is this true?

it will work just fine. The distillate manifold heats the mixture far more than the gas manifold. The replacement manifold will let the fuel air mix stay cooler. No problems. Jim

I'll echo what JimN says.

As long as you are running gasoline in your M the "high compression" manifold will work fine. Might even give a tad more power than with the old distillate manifold.

As Jim says unless you running it on kerosene or other such fuel which is not very likely.
