Gear was too tight

Anybody else have a Lift All,[belly pump] gear's so tight, had to push it off with a press, to change the seal, it wouldn't have needed a key in the keyway, to turn the two gears in the pump, anyway i ruined that little needle bearging on the same shaft the seal is on, never so glad to hear the parts man say it's available !!

If it's the seal where the drive dog screws on can't you just unbolt the pump gear housing cover and take the shaft and gear out together after the drive dog is screwed off? Provided you couldn't get the seal out by only removing the drive dog.

The drive dog is a separate issue, the seal is on the one side of the cover, and the gear is on the other side, the inside, so it had to come apart, but the gear was so tight on the shaft, and the cover is all cast, so u got to be careful when u have a 100 ton press at hand,[the neighbor's] but we did have a 3/4 drive socket, that fit, to act as a support.right under the shoulder's of the seal housing. But D. Slater get this, there was a 10-12 inch piece of king weed stem in the reservoir,i bet the previous owner was trying to check the oil level out in the field, and it slipped out of his fingers, Gish some people's kid's. But it was just standing in there at a 45 % angle, when i took the cover off.

Referring to screwing the drive dog off the gear shaft then slide gear and shaft as one piece out of back plate after the pump part is removed to see the gears. If I understand correct you had pump apart enough to press the shaft out the back cover for reservoir and pump gears. Should be able to lift gear and shaft out in picture after the slotted drive coupling is removed.

That drive dog just fall off when pump was removed, that's what i am saying it was to tight, there was no just lifting it out, that right gear is keyed, and drives the left gear, but everything looked good, for what the oil looked like, just waiting for the little needle brg, that's behind the right gear, the seal i had !!

Problem is me still not understanding. Was the slotted drive nut stuck to the pump shaft or striped? Picture of shaft removed without removing pump gear from shaft. Seal can be changed after slotted drive nut is removed without other disassembly if seal is all that's needed.

I didn't know that was threaded on there, My apology,Mr Slater, i had no idea, that would of been a lot easier. That's all i wanted to do, is to stop the leak, but i had to assemble it with out the half moon key, it was just too miserably tight to line up the key, and it's going to drive it fine with out, got it together, it had a 1,000 lb's of pressure with new hy-tran, thank you both very much! I feel so stupid for not knowing that coupler was threaded on there !
