H mounted sickel

I've seen them on H's and M's plus the Super's but don't think that they were introduced before the end of production of those letter series tractors. Since the chassis are laid out the same through the 60 series it would be fairly easy to mount a later mid mount mower on an older tractor. Deere's model 10 mower was offered with mounts for either the 2 cylinders or the New Generation tractors. Maybe the IH mowers for the 06, 56 series could be fitted to older IH tractors but I will admit to never seeing such a mower in literature or in person but I know I don't get to see everything. I have seen later mowers for the utilities.

Took me a minute to remember but the neighbor to us back during the 1960's bought a new 460 that had a mid mount mower and 2A hay conditioner bought new at the same time. That would make a nice show item.

The 100 series mowers were mid mounted and fit the M tractors for certain. I cannot speak to the 110 but I have a 115 mounted on a SMTA. I have not put it on or off in many years but thinking of the design I cannot see why it would not fit an H. Have to watch turning with it downhill as it is heavy. The SMTA handles it OK but has weights and loaded tires. The 115 mounts on the rails and a long PTO with driven gear that goes back and mounts on the horseshoe shaped draw bar. 110 has different mount but is similar. The PTO shaft is adjustable so thinking a little shorter tractor (M,H) would not be a problem. Once on the draw bar a chain transfers power from drive gear on PTO. Lots of places to make adjustment. These are nice mowers. No sore back at end of the day from twisting to look backwards.

Early 60s we had a new one on an M. It was a mowin machine with a conditioner on the drawbar. Don't remember the #, seems like maybe a 100 something. Don't remember if the belly bracket was adjustable or not.

Dad had a Kosch mid mount mower we used on our H's. It was a mowing machine and made really nice corners compared to the rear mounted mower.
